Mrs. Elender Ivaline Tilson

Elender Ivaline Tilson, 80, of 265 West Main Street, Salem, SC, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Seneca Health and Rehab. A native of Walhalla, SC, Mrs. Tilson was the daughter of the late Joe Dan and Pauline Lay Murphy. She retired from the Oconee County School District and was a member of Mount Carmel #1 Baptist Church. Mrs. Tilson is survived by her sons: John Tilson (Darlene), Tim Tilson (Andrea) and Jamie Tilson (Kerri); daughters: Debbie Smith (Darrel) and Wanda Screws (Bill); brothers: Daniel, Vance, Ricky and Ernest Murphy; sisters: Audrey Wilbanks, Connie Elrod, Betty White and Mildred Peay; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tilson was preceded in death by her infant son: Joseph Tilson; and sisters: Julia Peay, Geneve Burgess and Rosella Green. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 20, 2020 at Mt. Carmel #1 Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, Friday, prior to the service, at Mt. Carmel #1 Baptist Church. Flowers are accepted. The family is at their respective homes.
