Mr. Larry Lee Hudson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Larry Lee Hudson, 65, husband of Susan Hudson, of Seneca, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Oconee Memorial Hospital. A native of Lexington, KY, Mr. Hudson was the son of the late Charles and Katherine Hudson. He was an Owner of Spec-Group with his wife, Susan Hudson, for over three decades. Mr. Hudson is survived by his children: Shannon Adams (Jason) of Seneca, SC, Chloe Hudson of Mooresville, NC, Charles Tre Hudson of Seneca, SC and Tristen Hudson of Seneca, SC; brothers: Billy Gamboe of Lexington, KY, Charles Hudson (Kathy) of Memphis, TN, Mike Hudson (Anne) of Lexington, KY; and grandchildren: Kennedy Adams, Kash Adams and Jax Adams. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hudson is preceded in death by his brother: Lewis Gamboe; and sister: Judy Clark. Larry was a devout father and husband whose presence was known, even in silence. When he spoke words of wisdom, you listened. A man who loved deeply. He relished: the simple beauty in life, the laughter of his children, a river cutting through a mountain valley, the sounds from a great musician and art in all its forms. Larry was a model of your word being your truth. He never fell short of a promise or a helping hand. His passion for sports and competition carried over to his children and he loved watching his kids grow in them. He was a father that never missed a game but also respected one’s space and offered grace and patience. A humble upbringing shaped him to be the man everyone loved so dearly. He pursued excellence and proficiency in every facet of life, allowing him to excel playing college baseball and run a restoration business for classic architecture during his college years where he earned a BS Degree in Interior Design. Larry was never afraid of risk for big rewards and decided to move to Atlanta with his wife Susan; where they started their own business that has lasted through three decades. Larry’s 36-year marriage to the love of his life is an illustration of a true relationship. He made his wife laugh at the drop of a hat and could level a room with a one-liner. Leading to his last days, his family was blessed with the opportunity of time to laugh with him and soak up his wise words. He went peacefully with his hands held and surrounded by a room full of love. His soul will be missed dearly but his memory will never fade. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pretty Place in Cleveland SC March 20, 2022 from 2-3.
