Mr. Loyd Thomas Hood Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Loyd Thomas Hood, 89, husband of Joretta Jaynes Hood, of Westminster, SC, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at The Oaks at Chanticleer in Greenville, SC. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Hood was the son of the late C.P. and Millie Duckett Hood. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. Mr. Hood was self-employed home builder who specialized in custom homes, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hood is survived by his sons: Dr. Kenneth Hood (Nancy) of Walhalla, SC, and Chris Hood (Lisha) of Walhalla, SC; sister: Ruby Lusk of Walhalla, SC; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hood is preceded in death by his brother: William Craig Hood; sister: Lila Mae Duckworth, Allene Oliver, Nora Lowery and Lucille Segars. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Oconee Memorial Park. An informal visitation will take place from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM prior to the service, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Davenport Funeral Home. The family will not be in attendance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to: Alzheimer's Association, Attn: SC Gift Processing 4600 Park Rd, Ste 250, Charlotte, NC 28209. The family is at their respective homes.
