Mr. Randall "Randy" Alan Browning

June 22, 1970 - May 5, 2022

Randall “Randy” Alan Browning, 51, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 5, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, May 9, 2022 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Walhalla, SC. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Oconee Humane Society, 1925 Sandifer Blvd, Seneca, SC 29678. A native of Oconee County, hometown of Walhalla, SC, Randy was the son of the late Broadus “Dick” Browning and Opal Alexander Browning. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the 101st Airborne/Air Assault, U.S. Army Fort Campbell, KY (1988-1992) U.S. Army Reserve 391st Combat Engineer Battalion (1995-1996), and SC ARNG 263rd Air Defense Artillery (1996-1999). He studied Criminal Justice at Tri-County Technical College, studied Liberal Arts Associates Degree at Tri-County Technical College, studied BA Degree in Psychology at Southern Wesleyan University, and a 1988 Graduate of Walhalla High School. After returning home from the service and furthering his education, he was employed by the Westminster PD, the Salem PD, and lastly with the Oconee Sheriff’s Dept. He helped take care of his ailing father during this time. He became unable to work and continue his education due to failing health. Randy loved animals, and took in countless homeless animals to help them find loving homes. He had so many talents. He was a 4th degree black belt in Karate, skilled to become a professional in billiards and pool. He loved playing the guitar, a love he took from his dad, who played bluegrass music with family and friends during Randy’s and his sister’s “growing up” years. Randy was of the Baptist faith. Everyone who knew Randy knew he loved God, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, and his country. Randy is survived by his sister, Nancy Browning Ratliff, his brother-in-law, David Ratliff, other extended family members and countless friends, and his rescued dogs and cats. Condolences/cards may be sent to the home of Nancy & David Ratliff 602 Blackjack Rd., Westminster, SC 29693. The family is at the home of Mitchell & Debbie Webb, 485 Cedar Tree Drive, Walhalla, SC 29691.
