CARLIS GRIFFIN “JUNIOR” CAIN Seneca, SC—Carlis Griffin “Junior” Cain of 5068 Keowee School Road, affectionately know as “Junior” went home to be with his loved ones, especially his “Mama” on August 19, 2008 surrounded by his loved ones at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, where he was lovingly cared for by the staff. He was born on September 6, 1947 in Oconee County. He was the oldest son of the late Carlis Griffin, Sr. and Hazel Elizabeth “Lib” Cole Cain of Seneca. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and a member of Happy Hearts. Many challenges began for “Junior” soon after he was born. He always endured them with patience and giving much happiness for those who cared for him. In 1998, Junior moved to the Bruce Hare Group Home in Easley. There he was lovingly cared for by the extraordinary staff. We are so grateful to everyone who made Junior a part of a loving and supportive family. He will be greatly missed by his room mates: J.D. and David Cole, Ricky Wilkes, and the group home staff: Leslie Perry, Sandy Phillips, April Niemlia, Kyra Schultz, Crystabel Brown and his many friends at “Better Skills” in Pickens. Everyone who knew him will always treasure the joy he brought. He was deeply loved by those whose lives he touched and will be greatly missed and cherished by everyone who knew him. Junior will live forever in our memories and in our hearts. Heaven can only be brighter now that its newest angel has arrived. Junior leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister, Ann Hayes and husband Bobby, who was a very special, devoted, and caring brother-in-law to him. He is also survived by five brothers, Wesley, Dale, Wayne Cain and wife, Diane, Donnie and wife, Jean, all of Seneca and Kenny and wife, Patty of Fair Play. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 21, 2008 from Maranatha Baptist Church in Seneca with the Rev. Willie A. Honea, Rev. Carl Pointer and Rev. James Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Davenport Funeral Home in Walhalla. Junior will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to OMC Hospice of the Foothills Foundation, Cottingham House, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672. The family is at the residence.
