Evelyn Davis Hunnicutt

Walhalla, SC—Evelyn Davis Hunnnicutt, 72, wife of the late James Edward Hunnicutt, of 106 Bulwinkle Drive, Walhalla, SC, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Hunnicutt was the daughter of the late Henley and Delia Carver Davis. She was retired from Jantzen and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hunnicutt is survived by sons, Jack (Charlene) Hunnicutt of Sumter, SC and Randy (Sheila) Hunnicutt of Westminster; daughter, Diane Lee of Westminster; brothers, Winfred Davis of Pelzer and Leon Davis of Walhalla; sisters, Pat Nicholson of Westminster and Frances Hightower of West Union; grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh) Owen of Elberton, GA, Heather (Jeremy) Kennemore of Walhalla, Carra Lee of Westminster, Tanner Hunnicutt of Westminster, Ashley ( Cody) Schipper of Seneca, Mary (Colt) Burton of Salem, Samantha Hunnicutt (Mitchell Brown) of Pendleton, Dawn (Kevin) Sosebee of Seneca, Samantha (Daniel) Yates of Westminster, Steven Gilstrap of Westminster, Misty Hunnicutt and fiancé, Ken Reynolds of Sumter, Ryan (Morgan) Evans of Columbia and Kyle Hunnicutt (Kim Henderson) of Sumter; great-grandchildren, Gwynn Marie Evans, Aiden Kyle James Hunnicutt, Brianna and Kaylee Lipscomb, Tyler and Sheridan Spencer, Leslie and Landon Burton, Kaylee Brown, Brody, Harley and Alyssah Owen, Hannah, Hayley and Chloe Kennemore and Rylee Lee; and step great-grandchildren, Katilyn and Emily Sosebee and Avery and Autumn Yates. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hunnicutt was predeceased by sons, Melvin and Johnnie Hunnicutt; brothers, Moses, Mack, Dover, Ross and Leroy Davis; and sisters, Geneva Moore and Dolly Smith. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2009 from the Chapel of Davenport Funeral Home, Walhalla, SC, with burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the funeral home. The family is at their respective homes.
