Mrs. Iris Latrelle "Mc Mc" Brock McFarlin

Latrelle McFarlin went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 30, 2021, at age 92. She was born in Toccoa, GA, to the late Willie Grady Brock and Mildred Faye Coe Brock on July 16, 1929. As a child she helped take care of her younger brothers and sisters. Later in life, she took pride in caring for her grandchildren. She graduated from High School in Eastonolle, GA and attended Albany Business School in Albany, GA. She was selfless, a hard worker, and had a generous kind heart and a brilliant mind. She was one of the oldest members of Corinth Baptist Church in Seneca, SC. She loved her church and her Pastor, Tim Tate. She was married to the late Henry Ray McFarlin, Sr. in Toccoa, GA on September 9, 1959 until his death on July 28, 1991. They are survived by four children: Deborah Rae McFarlin Hobbs (Nelson), Donna Faye McFarlin Whitfield (Kenny), Iris Alfreda McFarlin Scott (Jeff) and Henry Ray McFarlin, Jr. Also surviving are grandchildren: Brooke Coffey Brock, Sunny Whitfield (Matt), Nicholas Whitfield (Lauren), Chris Scott (Courtney), Tara Cummings (Riley), Alex Vaughn (Gil), Sarah McFarlin, Dolan McFarlin (Kaitlin), Eva McFarlin, Andy Hobbs (Heather), Chris Hobbs (Tazley); and great-grandchildren: Tyler and Allysa Owens, Kensi and Bryan Hobbs, Declan and Willow Hobbs, Nathanael and Katherine Scott; Cash and Cope Cummings; two sisters: Charlotte Jordan and Pat Savage; many nieces and nephews; and dearest friends: Cathy Cleveland and Cathy Oliver. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, she loved crocheting and gave many Afghans to her loved ones. She was very special to so many. She always took pleasure in giving to others, especially her children and grandchildren. She always put herself last and others first. She taught all her children about God and took them to church. Throughout her entire life she held an unwavering faith and devotion to God. The legacy she leaves behind are her Bibles and written prayer journals she has maintained since 1974. Latrelle joins her husband, Henry Ray McFarlin, Sr., parents, Mildred and Willie and her brothers: Chester, Grady, Jr. and Harold Brock; and sister: Evelyn Bailey. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Corinth Baptist Church with burial to follow at 4:00 PM, at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, Sunday, prior to the service, at the church. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Corinth Baptist Church, 530 Old Clemson Hwy, Seneca SC 29672. The family is at their respective homes.
