Mr. Keith Edward Lee

Keith Edward Lee, age 54, of Walhalla, S.C., went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2019, while surrounded by friends and family in his home. Keith was born on September 24, 1965, in Oconee County, S.C., the son of the late Frank Edward and Magalena “Maggie” Justice Lee. He graduated from Walhalla High School in 1983 and attended Clemson University. Mr. Lee then worked at BASF, formerly Engelhard Chemical Plant, for over 15 years. Keith loved serving the body of Christ, whether overseas on mission trips, as a humble deacon in his church, or working in children’s ministry. He loved his church family at North Walhalla Church of God, where he was a member. Mr. Lee is survived by his wife, Ruthie Lee of Walhalla; their four sons of Walhalla: Christian David, Cameron Michael, Aaron Joseph, and Galen Daniel. He is also survived by his mother, Magalena Justice Lee of Walhalla, his brothers Herman Ervin Underwood and Hershel Kaye Underwood, both of Walhalla, Tommy Eskovitzch of Savannah, GA, and his sister Kathy Lee Mullenix, of Walhalla. He also leaves behind grandson, Grayson David McElroy, of Townville, and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, June Roach and Sandra Gail Vitavitch, both of Walhalla; and his brother Bub Edward Lee, of Walhalla. Keith was known for his warm smile, deep, contagious laugh and his gentle, humble demeanor. He adored his wife and was incredibly proud of his four sons. He and Ruthie were thankful to have 22 wonderful years of marriage together! They especially enjoyed laughing, dancing, playing practical jokes on each other, and simply spending time together with their boys as a family. He was a great story-teller, an avid recycler, and a master at the cat-walk. But above all else, Keith’s greatest love was the Lord Jesus Christ! As he often shared, “I never would have asked for cancer, but I would never give up the close relationship with Jesus I have now because of it.” Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 12, 2019, at North Walhalla Church of God with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, prior to the service, at the church.
