Mrs. Norma Jean Richardson

With an outpouring of love and deep sadness, we share the passing of Norma Jean Richardson, known lovingly as Jean to family and friends, on November 10, 2025. Jean was born in Anderson, SC on October 12, 1941, and spent her final years in warm Kissimmee, Florida, living a life that personified grace, perseverance, and faith. Jean was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her, embodying a spirit that was thoughtful, dedicated, reliable, and always ready to share a moment of laughter. Her career as an Administrative Assistant at Clemson University in the Plant Pathology and Aquaculture, Fisheries & Wildlife departments spanned over 30 years, leaving an indelible mark on the institution and the countless lives she touched during her service. Throughout the years, Jean enjoyed various creative hobbies such as meticulously decorating cakes, crafting beautiful cross-stitch or crochet pieces, arranging flowers, or learning watercolor painting. She also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society. Jean's dedication to her faith was evident not only in her active participation in the Church of God, previously teaching children's Sunday school, singing in the choir, and engaging in Bible study, but also in the way she lived her life. Her life was a living testament of the biblical verses, Proverbs 31:25-28, embodying strength, dignity, wisdom, and unwavering faith. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Mary Ellen Kelley and B.C. Brown, her step-father Johnnie Marice Kelley, her beloved husband Clifford Robert Richardson, son Robert Brian Richardson, and sister Anita Joanne Davis. She is survived by her daughter Susie McGregor, son-in-law Stuart McGregor, sister Shellie Gianotti, granddaughter Sarah Merkel, along with great grandsons Eli Hilley and Isaiah Sparks. Jean's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family, values she held closest to her heart.
