Mrs. Wilma Geraldine "Jerrie" Lusk

Wilma Geraldine “Jerrie” Lusk, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, was born on July 7, 1938, in Oconee County, South Carolina. At 88 years old, Jerrie leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, strength, achievement, and devoted service to her family and community. She was the daughter of Edward Wlliiam Bell and Wilma Stanley Bell of Walhalla, SC. Jerrie was also in death by her husband, Wallace Virgil Lusk; her son, Wallace Anthony “Tony” Lusk; and her siblings, Aileen and (Clyde) Kerr, Ruth & Gene) DuPree, Alma & Phil) Rackley, Bernice & Louis Suttles, Mary Julia (Bell) and Fred Elliott (Fred) Richard “Hank” & Barbara) Bell, James & Linda Bell, Charles (Linda) Bell, and brother-in-law Larry Stallings. Originally from Walhalla, South Carolina, Jerrie graduated from Walhalla High School and went on to attend Anderson University. On December 6, 1957, she married Wallace Lusk, beginning a lifelong partnership that would span for 50 years. For 42 years, she served as a devoted military and civil service spouse, faithfully supporting her husband and family through many moves and seasons of life. Jerrie was a woman of exceptional drive and talent. She managed a credit union for eight years and also served as bookkeeper for her husband’s businesses Jonquil Sporting Goods and Lusk & Brothers Landscaping Services. She later built an outstanding 44-year career as a real estate broker, earning numerous multimillion-dollar production awards. She was recognized among the top 2% of national sales and achieved the designation of Certified Residential Specialist. Beyond her professional success, Jerrie had a deep passion for mentoring and community involvement. She coached girls’ junior high basketball at Nash Middle School in Smyrna, Georgia, where her team went undefeated and won the championship. She also served as president of the Summer Boys Baseball Auxiliary for five years and was vice president of Smyrna Athletic Cheerleading, dedicating her time and energy to youth programs and athletics. Jerrie will be remembered as a strong, determined, and hardworking woman with a generous heart and unwavering devotion to her family. She touched many lives through her kindness, leadership, and commitment to excellence in everything she did. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Lusk Bartlett; her sisters, Marcella (Jimmy) Moyer and Donna Stalling; her grandchildren, Robert Lusk, Richard Lusk, Trevor Bartlett, and Micah Bartlett; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Jerrie’s life was one of purpose, perseverance, and love. Her legacy will continue through her family and all those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Services will be held in a private family gathering.
