Mrs. Joyce Carolyn Moss Smith

January 18, 1947 - September 28, 2020

Joyce Carolyn Moss Smith, 73, wife of Bobby Leon Smith, of 107 Torrington Road, Walhalla, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020, at Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Jackson County, NC, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Gus Columbus Moss and Bertha Blackburn Moss. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She loved her family, especially her grandkids, nieces and nephews and her dog Opie. Mrs. Smith enjoyed gospel music and singing in the church choir when she was able. Her home church was Yellow Mountain Baptist Church and she was a presently a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons: Jeff Smith (Andrea) of Mountain Rest, SC and Bobby D. Smith (Crystal) of Walhalla, SC; daughters: Rhonda Smith of Westminster, SC and Regina Smith Winkler (Wally) of West Columbia, SC; sister: Glenda Gail Moss Bryson (Marvin) of Long Creek, SC; and grandchildren: Clay Smith, Helen Wood, Jeffrey Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Dylan Smith, Logan Smith, Kennedy Winkler and Alex Winkler; and great-grandchildren: Knox Winkler and Turner Winkler. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her brother: Leland Dale Moss. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, Saturday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church, 102 Mt. View Church Drive, Walhalla, SC 29691. The family is at their respective homes.
