Mr. Mac Adam Evatt

October 14, 1931 - March 17, 2022

Mac Adam Evatt, 90, husband of Sybil J. Evatt of Seneca, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Evatt was the son of the late Young Adam Evatt and Ellon Morgan Evatt. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member and deacon at New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Evatt was an avid fisherman and an overall hard worker, building custom homes and working construction for over 45 years with Thurmond Evatt Builders. In addition to his wife, Mr. Evatt is survived by his daughters: Elaine Ward (Stanley) of Seneca, SC and Andrea Pinion (Chuck) of Seneca, SC; sister: Kathlyn Alexander (Edward) of Seneca, SC; grandchildren: Joshua Ward (Alicia) Jacob Ward (Lacie), Kayla Durham (Michael), Abby Pinon; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evatt is preceded in death by his brother: Thurmond Evatt; and sisters: Jacqueline Cassell, Fred Nelle Jenkins, Lois Shepherd, Edna Smith, and Martha Myers. A private visitation will be conducted prior to the service. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Friday, March 25, 2022, at New Hope Baptist Church with burial to follow with Military Rites at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to: Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills, Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC, 29672. The family is at their respective homes.
