Selena Monroe Charles, 73, wife of Stephen Eugene Charles, of Seneca, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021, at her home. A native of Seneca, SC, Mrs. Charles was the daughter of the late Charles and Ollie Belle Price Monroe. She was a member of Bountyland Church of God. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Charles is survived by her sons: John Charles (Michelle) of Walhalla and Ron Charles (Mary) of Seneca; daughters: Stephanie Burdette (Steve) of Salem and Melinda Charles of Seneca; brothers: Ron Monroe of Hartwell, GA and David Monroe of Clemson; sister: Carolyn Sorrells of Seneca; grandchildren: Rebecca Burdette, Rachel Burdette, Daniel Charles and Austin Charles; and great-grandchildren: Lillian Rankin and Evie Charles. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 2, 2021, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from, 1:00-2:00 PM, Friday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. Masks are encouraged to be worn during the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oconee Humane Society, P.O. Box 966, West Union, SC 29696. The family is at their respective homes.
