Mrs. Barbara Lewis Witmer

Barbara Lewis Witmer, 82, died June 10, 2026, at home with her husband and family members, after several weeks of excellent care from Hospice and 24/7 Davis Care aides. She had been surrounded by her loving families for the past 2 months, while struggling with complications of myocarditis. She was born in Richmond, VA, August 11, 1943. She was the daughter of Robert S. Llewellyn and Carolyn Hek Llewellyn, and graduated from high school there in 1961. She was happily married to her first husband Robert T. Lewis for 50 years until his passing in 2018. She is survived by her son, Shannon T. Lewis and his wife Julie Lewis of Alpharetta, GA (grandson Gray and granddaughter Garrett), her daughter Tina Greer and her husband Alex of Clayton, NC (grandson Cade and wife Selena), her sister Janit Allen and her husband Greg of Midlothian, VA (nephews Forrest and Christian and families), and her brother Paul Llewellyn and wife Donna of Richmond, VA (nephew PJ and niece Kayleigh and families). She was happily married to her second husband Thomas H. Witmer on December 1, 2019, after 20 years of prior faith together in their church. She is survived by Tom’s son Thomas H. Witmer, Jr., and his wife Cynthia of Epping, NH (step-grandson Tyler and step-granddaughter Morgan), and Tom’s daughter Laura S. Witmer and her wife Patty of Mason, OH (step-grandsons Keaton, Carter, and Clay and step-granddaughters Callie and Emori). She was deeply loved by all members of both families and by so many good friends, and is sorely missed by all. Barbara and Tom enjoyed 7 years of love and adventures together – a very happy marriage including extensive travel and time with both families. She was deeply loved by Tom – for her love and dedication to him, constant companionship, deep friendship, advice, humor, and mutually strong faith. She was a devoted Christian and loyal member of the Order of the Daughters of the King, Episcopal Church USA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9th at 12:00 PM, at Holy Trinity Episcopal, 193 Old Greenville Highway, Clemson, SC. Her ashes will be spread in the church’s Memorial Garden after the service. A brief reception will follow.
