Mr. Dale Craig Singleton

Dale passed away suddenly at Oconee Medical Hospital. Married to his wife Eva Nell Henson Singleton for 59 years. He was an incredible provider for his Family. He was a proud and loving father, father-in-law, Papaw, and Poppa Dale to many. Dale was a kind, generous man who never met a stranger. He was happiest when he was helping others. He held many titles/positions Shoe Salesman, “LD”, Real Estate Investor, and he retired after 40 years of employment from Champion International Paper. Dale built two beautiful lake homes from pine trees he planted when he and Eva Nell were dating. He planted them on his father-in-laws 60 acre mountain property (which he later purchased). He had the pines cut and milled. The first home was built on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee, GA. He enjoyed the home as a second/vacation home while still employed. Just prior to retiring, he built their retirement home on Lake Keowee in Seneca SC. The home is constructed completely of White Pine including the log exterior, walls, floors, and ceilings. It is absolutely as beautiful as Dale had dreamed and envisioned. Dale had big dreams and visions and he was able to allow others to see those visions. He could literally sell anything to anyone. Dale had a gift for seeing the best in people, property and things. Everything for it’s highest and best use, even people. He had a unique way of helping others to see this in themselves. He rarely told you to your face but he was always bragging about someone or something to other people. He loved playing cards and board games with his family. He loved competition. He loved boating and fishing, hunting, “trading”, playing golf always wanting to win. He could always appreciate a beautiful sunrise and sunset, a fresh cut lawn and beautiful flowers. He loved his family, friends and loved telling stories. In addition to his wife, Dale is survived his son: Marty Singleton of Paris, TN; daughters: Dinah Dale Singleton and Kim Singleton Murphy both of Savannah, GA; brothers: Dean Singleton of Clyde, NC and Steve Singleton of Canton, NC; sister: Cleta Singleton Franklin of Waynesville, NC; six grandchildren, loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. If you met Dale the words on this page cannot compare to the personal experience you encountered with him. He was absolutely a one-of-a-kind guy and he will be greatly missed by all. He will always remain in our hearts as we continue caring for others appreciating and celebrating his wonderful life. Dale was preceded in death by his parents: James Guy and Lois Rogers Singleton; and brothers: Bruce Singleton, Roger Singleton, Donald Singleton, and Gary Singleton.
