Floyd Talmadge Payne

Toccoa, GA—Mr. Floyd Talmadge Payne, age 72 of 124 W. Silver Shoals Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. A son of the late John R. Payne and Lois Cash Payne, he was born September 12, 1937 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County. He owned and operated Payne Printing Service, Incorporated. He was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Adult Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Stephens County Gideons. He was preceded in death by a brother Roy H. Payne and a sister Frances Payne. Survivors include his wife of the home Susie Ann McFarlin Payne, daughter Tammy and husband Donnie Richey, Walhalla, South Carolina, a son Kendall and wife Angela Cash Payne, Winterville, Georgia, grandchildren Kendra Lynne Payne, Zachary Jonathon Payne, Sydney Grace Richey and Preston Lee Richey, a sister Carolyn Pittman, Sandy Springs, Georgia. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 2 O’clock PM at Zebulon Baptist Church with The Reverend Tony Byrd, The Reverend Ty Childers and The Reverend Ricky McFarlin officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers The Reverend Tommy Childress, The Reverend David Sosebee, The Reverend Ty Childers, The Reverend Ricky McFarlin, Brother Danny Yearwood and Brother Jeff Adams and should assemble at the funeral home by 1 PM on Friday. The Stephens County Gideons will serve as honorary escort and should assemble at the church by 1:30 PM. The family will be at the home on 124 W. Silver Shoals Road and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2010. Flowers are optional. Memorials can be made to Stephens County Gideons, P.O. Box 663, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 or Stephens County Anti-Drug Coalition, 111 Fieldcrest Drive, Eastanollee, Georgia 30538 in memory of Mr. Floyd Talmadge Payne. Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Floyd Talmadge Payne.
